Underwhelming Arsenal player really impressing Arteta – journalist

Journalist Julian Laurens has said that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is convinced that Kai Havertz will come good for the Gunners eventually.

Kai Havertz joined Arsenal from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Kai Havertz struggling at Arsenal

The Germany international, who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder, has struggled to make a huge impact at the Gunners so far.

The 24-year-old has made four appearances in the Premier League so far this season.

Havertz has not scored or provided an assist in those games.

The forward has made 95 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

Havertz has scored 19 goals and given seven assists in those matches.

While Arsenal are doing well at the moment, Havertz is arguably the only player in the starting lineup who is failing to deliver the goods.

Now, there is a case to be made that Arteta is not playing the German star in his best position.

But, Martin Odegaard is the playmaker for Arsenal now.

The Norwegian is the best number 10 at the Gunners.

While many will feel that Havertz should be dropped from the starting lineup soon, journalist Julian Laurens has said that Arteta thinks highly of him.

Kai Havertz impressing Mikel Arteta in Arsenal training

Laurens has said that Arsenal manager Arteta is sure that Havertz will come good for the Gunners, saying that the forward has been doing well in training.

Laurens said about Havertz on ESPN, as transcribed by TBR: “Again, I think he needs more time, Havertz.

“It may not look like much, but he has played with four different left-backs so far this season, he had Kiwior, Zinchenko, Tomiyasu and Timber playing there.

“This is not helping when you play on that left side and you have different left-backs behind you every single time with different profiles. I think he will get there.

“Arteta is convinced he has enough talent to get used to that number eight position and do well, he’s good in training.

“In games he lacks a lot, but Arteta is happy with him and he brings a lot of balance to this team to, I think he will come good.”
