Trump gets emotional during powerful South Dakota rally: ‘We are a failing nation’

Emotions appeared ready to overcome former President Donald Trump in Rapid City, South Dakota, on Friday as he detailed the devastating effects of President Joe Biden’s actions on America.

“South Dakota is the state where Lewis and Clark discovered the American workers,” he told a packed rally crowd. “It’s where generations of hunters and trappers, cowboys, ranchers, miners, farmers, workers, and craftsmen helped build America into the greatest nation in the history of the world.”

“But now, we are a nation in decline,” Trump said, as dramatic music swelled behind him. “We are a failing nation. We are a nation that has the highest inflation in 50 years. Where banks are collapsing. Interest rates are through the roof. Likewise, we are a nation where energy costs have reached the highest in our history. Where we are no longer energy independent or energy dominant as we were just a short number of years ago.”

In an uncharacteristically somber tone, Trump went on to discuss our failure to drill for oil; the “fake” Green New Deal that will “lead to our country’s destruction”; and the push for electric cars that “can’t go far, cost too much, and whose batteries are produced in China with materials only available in China.”

He mentioned the “dead soldiers, American citizens” the Biden administration left behind in Afghanistan along with “85 billion dollars worth of the finest military equipment in the world” and the “hundreds of thousands of people” that have been killed as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

He discussed the weaponization of law enforcement “against the opposing political party” and the FBI’s involvement in covering up Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell.”

“And we have a man who is totally corrupt and the worst president in the history of our country,” Trump said. “Who is cognitively impaired, in no condition to lead, and is now in charge of dealing with Russia and the possibility of nuclear war, which would be World War Three and far more devastating than any of the previous world wars because of the weaponry that no one even wants to think about.”

China, Russia, and North Korea used to respect us, Trump continued, but now, “they think we’re run by fools.”

“We are a nation that, in many ways, has become a joke,” he said. “We are a nation that is hostile to liberty, freedom, and faith.”

And, with the crowd in the palm of his hand and literal violin strings playing, he continued painting an accurate portrait of what many see as America’s sad fall from grace.

“We are a nation whose economy is collapsing into a cesspool of ruin,” he said.

“We are a nation where large packs of sadistic criminals and thieves are allowed to go into stores and openly rob them, beat and kill their workers and customers, and leave with armloads of goods, but with no retribution,” he noted. “Where the authority of our great police has been taken, where their families and pensions have been threatened, and their lives would be destroyed for the mere mention of the words, ‘law enforcement.’”

Our nation is now one in which “Fentanyl and all other forms of illegal drugs are easier to get than formula for our beautiful little babies,” Trump said.

A nation in which our airports have devolved into a “dirty, crowded mess” and lack “pilots to fly the planes.”

“We are a nation that has lost its confidence, has lost its willpower, and lost its strength,” Trump said. “We are a nation that has quite simply lost its way.”

“But we are not going to allow this horror to continue,” the former president promised. “Three years ago, we were a great nation, and we will soon be a great nation again.”

“It was hardworking patriots like you who built this country,” the GOP frontrunner stated, “and it is hardworking patriots like you who are going to save our country.”

“Like those patriots before us, we will not bend. We will not break. We will not yield. We will never give in. We will never give up. And we will never, ever back down,” Trump vowed. “Together, we will complete the mission. We will cross the finish line. We will evict crooked Joe Biden from the White House, and we will take back this country with a righteous and magnificent victory on Election Day 2024.”

“Under our leadership, the forgotten men and women will be forgotten no longer,” he stated. “We are one movement, one people, one family, and one glorious nation under God. And together, we will make America powerful again. We will make America wealthy again. We will make America strong again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And we will make America great again.”

A more inspirational, perfectly composed, expertly executed seven minutes out of a nearly two-hour speech from Donald Trump would be difficult to find.

It spoke to the very hearts of those who heard it.

“President Trump on the verge of tears as he describes the downfall of America,” stated one user on X. “Find me one video where Joe Biden shows he truly cares about America with more than 10 people in the audience. You can’t. Stolen elections have devastating consequences.”

“The last 7 minutes of Trump’s South Dakota rally,” said another. “Incredible.”

“He truly loves our Country,” a third remarked. “God Bless Trump.”
