‘Media don’t care about Tottenham’: Frank Leboeuf mentions Arsenal after 30-year-old’s comments

Frank Leboeuf has weighed in on Harry Kane’s comments about the big difference in pressures at Tottenham Hotspur and his new club, Bayern Munich.

The one-time World Cup winner suggested that the ‘media don’t care about Tottenham‘ and they are probably just interested in talking about the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City. as he told ESPN.

One of the main reasons why Harry Kane left Spurs for Bayern Munich was to, not only experience a new life, but to add some much-needed silverware to his goal-crazy career.

When the England captain was at Tottenham, they had several chances to win trophies, but for one reason or another, with Kane in the starting XI, they weren’t able to get over the line.

That’s something the 30-year-old has to take responsibility for and it’s a reason why the London club went trophyless under what was deemed to be a successful period under Mauricio Pochettino.

Either way, Leboeuf stated that surely Kane, when at Spurs, tried to push his teammates to get better and be ‘bigger’ about wanting to win the big trophies following his recent comments about pressure.

“The pressure he is talking about, surely he put it in the dressing room about being unhappy and sharing to his teammates saying ‘we have to make it bigger’,” said Leboeuf. “I am sure the guy had that mentality.

“The outside of the dressing room. Maybe the board themselves didn’t put the pressure enough. Maybe the media don’t care about Tottenham because they talk about Arsenal, they talk about Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool. And Manchester City.

“They don’t about Spurs and they don’t expect anything from Spurs, so they don’t have the pressure. And the fans are used to not having Tottenham at the top of the table. They don’t put pressure and everyone is happy. It’s the mentality of everybody.”

Harry Kane at Bayern Munich

Whilst at Spurs Kane might have been able to hide behind the media constantly digging at the club as a whole when they didn’t win anything.

Well, he can’t do such a thing in Munich, and if he slips up here, then it will be a serious blow to his career.

Bayern win Bundesliga titles in their sleep, but Kane still has to prove he is worthy. But the main one is the Champions League, if he helps Thomas Tuchel’s side to glory in Europe, then he can really talk the talk.
